From farmers to exporters, Roots of Peace develops entire agricultural value chains by implementing the ROP Development Model which is designed to serve as a catalyst to generate much broader impact industry-wide – improving incomes for smallholder farmers, bringing peace to rural communities, transforming national industries.
The Marketing Strategy Director is responsible for providing world-class expertise to support the Marketing, Production and Grant Components of the program. The Marketing Strategy Director will work closely with the CBARD-AIM Marketing Program Director to ensure the day-to-day management and implementation of these program components.
Manage team to implement and achieve the Marketing, Production and Grant components objectives.
Ensure CBARD-AIM Marketing Program Director is briefed regularly on the progress and challenges of the program including any significant potential problems.
Deliver all required and reports to the CBARD-AIM Marketing Program Director per agreement and in a timely manner.
Provide appropriate induction and orientation, supervision and support to the team as required.
Supervise the activities of all the field staff and create an activity tracking system to ensure the project indicators are achieved and delivered.
Manage timelines and deliverables for all program components
Ensure Gender Integration in all activities
Ensure potential markets are identified and the producers/exporters are made aware of all the requirements of these markets.
Document market requirements for producers
Document logistics requirements for traders
Directly oversee initial pilot sales activities
Facilitate expansion of sales activities
Oversee the participation of lead exporters to exhibit products at the potential domestic and international trade fair and business event for the export and commercialization of Afghan Produce in the regional and other potential markets in order to find markets and buyers.
Market Linkages with Producers:-
Conduct field visits, when possible, to verify the quality of work.
Oversee the marketing component to ensure linkages between the producers, local traders, and exporters and created,
Test the feasibility of the products in the program areas for local and export markets.
Assist the Master Trainer/team in developing work plans, ensure training sessions for both the farmers and traders are conducted and their capacities are enhanced in production and markets including post-harvest, best practices, cold chain, processing, and marketing.
Ensure additional training sessions are conducted for the program business firm enhancing their capacity in business development, promotions and export management for domestic and international markets.
Work with the Production Specialist/team to ensure they provide overall Organizational Planning process and design of an efficient production Plan on Provincial or Regional level to produce export quality products.
Keep the CBARD-AIM Marketing Program Director updated on the field activities, method demonstration, result demonstration, and training activities in the program areas.
Oversee the Grants and Procurement Activates and Processes.
Ensure all procurements and grants match the criteria and are properly documents in compliance with the grant and procurement manual
Oversee the activities of the training team both on technical as well as extension methodology, and extension management activities.
Overview managing overall grant efforts, documenting payments and expenditures and the tracking of grant applications.
Optimizing the grant administration process, ensuring compliance with grant regulations, overview grant proposals, manage grant database and educating staff on policies.
