About Norwegian Afghanistan Committee:

The basic roll of this position is effective community mobilization to implement emergency project of protecting the agriculture livelihoods of vulnerable marginal farming households from the adverse impacts of COVID-19 shock and worsening of existing food crisis in Afghanistan by providing time-critical and season-sensitive assistance in the form of quality agriculture inputs, related technical training and awareness building on COVID-19 safety measures to adopt during farm level practices and market participation. The post holder will ensure that project activities are well understood and accepted by the target community that developed through proper community mobilization also ensures that the most needy and eligible beneficiaries are selected based on the project criteria.
Reporting directly to the agriculture officer
Specifically, the community mobilizers will have the following responsibilities:
Duration: 1st October. 2020 till February 2020 (5 months)
Direct program implementation:
Develop and implement all mobilization activities for male and female project beneficiaries. Make sure that appropriate community mobilization curricula, materials, and discussion guidelines are prepared, reviewed, updated, and followed.
Collaborate with Project agriculture officer to design community mobilization strategy.
Support to conduct project relevant data collection in project coverage area.
Support project and provincial team to implement project activities in the community with innovative ideas.
Work with other project staff to select project implementation sites and project beneficiaries.
Socialization and verification of project beneficiaries based on project selection criteria
Provide on time support and information sharing with project beneficiaries in any event or time of agriculture input distribution.
Sensitization on COVID-safe practices to adopt during (i) farming and vegetable cultivation and (ii) market participation coupled with distribution of COVID-safety materials like PPE, hygiene kits and such to the direct beneficiaries.
Reception and safe storage of inputs at the district centers and distribution points.
Provision of wheat production packages comprising certified wheat seed, urea, and DAP fertilizers to vulnerable smallholder farmers households.
Training on sustainable agriculture management delivered to vulnerable smallholder farmers households.
Provide support to M&E Officer for proper documentation of distributed items and other activities.
Conducting post distribution monitoring visits to project implementation sites.
Mobilizing and Making communities aware on project objectives, outputs and activities and M&E systems.
Facilitate project and activities information at all events Prepare and implement action plan for quality monitoring
Facilitate project and activities information at all events such as training and workshops
Reports and coordination:
Coordination about the NACs activities under the agriculture project and building effective coordination and cooperation among all stakeholders
Data collection and writing periodic reports weekly, bi-weekly and monthly reports, besides the distribution reports which should be done after each distribution of the wheat seed, urea and DAP to project beneficiaries.
