About Ministry of Public Health:
Implementation of integrated management of neonatal and childhood illnesses (IMNCI) in comprehensive and holistic approach is aimed to improve child survival and their fifth birthday celebration by training on IMNCI concepts and sensitizing on environmental factors to enhance quality under five healthcare.
Childhood diarrhoea remain as one of the major causes of death among children under five. In addition to other interventions, WHO and UNICEF recommend utilization of Zinc-ORS for treatment and control of diarrheal diseases. Zinc is an important micronutrient for a child’s overall health and development. Zinc is lost in greater quantities during diarrhea. For these reasons, community and public awareness of use of Zinc supplements in diarrhea management is of utmost importance.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) initiated community dialogue plus (CD+) program aimed to promote utilization of Zinc-ORS, as well as promotion of other key IMNCI indicators at community level. This program is based on key health promotion strategies such as social mobilization, behaviour change communication and advocacy.
Scope of Work
Develop concept papers, guidelines, manuals, training aid materials for Community Dialogue (CD) under close supervision of Health Promotion Director;
Develop annual, quarterly, monthly work plan for CD program;
Work closely with the provincial health promotion officers to ensure the program implementation is aligned with the project requirements and CD guideline, work plan, implementation schedule and allocated resources;
Oversee and provide technical support to the CD program field teams;
Conduct follow-up field supervisory visits to the project site;
Share updates regarding Community Dialogue (CD) program activities to the relevant parties on timely basis;
Develop required IEC materials for CD program;
Develop reporting and data collection matrices;
Manage, coordinate and facilitate all required trainings and capacity building to the CD program staff;
Close contact and appropriate coordination with governmental and non-governmental agencies in the field and national level and participate in coordination meetings;
Provide regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to HPD management and relevant organization;
Provide support to the district teams in verification, certification and declaration ceremonies;
Undertake any other assignment/ tasks given by the HPD management and relevant organization;
Qualifications and experience
Bachelor degree at Medicine or Public Health or Public Policy and Administration or Business Management or Business Administration (BBA);
At least 3 years of work experience in managing programs/ projects preferably in the field of Public Health;
Must have computer skills (MS-Office);
Should have excellent report writing skills;
Must be able to communicate well in Pashto/ Dari and English;
