SCI – Afghanistan
Save the Children has worked in Afghanistan since 1976. Our way of working close to people and on their own terms has enabled us to deliver lasting change to tens of thousands of children in the country. The UN Convention of the Rights of the Child is the basis of our work.
We are helping children get a better education, we make it possible for more boys and girls to attend school, we help children protect themselves and influence their own conditions. We work with families, communities and health workers in homes, clinics and hospitals to promote basic health in order to save lives of children and mothers
The basic roll of this position is to assist education project officer in effective community mobilization, filling necessary forms, supervising, mentoring CBE project teachers and assist in completion of documentation to implement the program in targeted area.
The Community mobilizer is accountable to carry out the following key role and responsibilities:
1- Responsible for organizing, motivate and mobilize target communities for high quality standard program implementation
2-Assist CBE project officers in community mobilization, beneficiary`s selection and project implementation in the targeted districts.
3-insure that all required students` documents are on place and in line with MOE policy and requirements.
4-support the MEAL in conducting base line, mid term review or audit, project end participatory community assessments and evaluation in project coverage area.
5-deliver the program weekly, monthly and quarterly work plan in high quality standard and provide the work progress report the CBE Projects officers.
6-Supervise the work of CBE Teachrs, mentors, and to assist them in the delivery of program work plan.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
1 YRS EXPERIENCE
Commitment to SC child protection policy
Interpersonal and managerial and conflict resolution skills
Good technical skills in hygiene promotion and community mobilization in relation to water and sanitation activities
Good technical skills in Water supply and sanitation infrastructure
Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disadvantaged populations
Fluent in local language (Pashtu or Dari)
Diplomacy, tact and negotiating skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Knowledge of province is appreciated
Understanding of gender issue
