CAF-SHDP is a joint venture of two organizations; Care of Afghan Families (CAF) and Social and Health Development Program (SHDP) implementing the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) under SEHAT project in Logar province from Jan-2014.

The organization was established on 2005 in Kabul and is registered with Ministry of Economy. SHDP is mainly involved in the field of health, research, & community development. The Nutrition /IMNCI Officer is in general responsible for implementation of Nutrition/ IMNCI policy/strategy in all BPHS health facilities and health posts in Logar. She/ he will work under the direct supervision of Technical Manager in Logar.
II-Specific Job Responsibilities:
To ensure Nutrition /IMNCI implementation in all related health facilities and health posts.
To provide Nutrition/ IMNCI recording forms, registration books, chart booklets, posters and informative charts to all health facilities.
To provide relevant IEC/BCC materials and distribute it to the health facilities and health posts.
To represent CAF/SHDP in relevant meetings, workshops, trainings, seminars, and etc.
To facilitate community Nutrition .IMNCI through CBHC program.
To regularly supervise the health facilities and provide technical Supportive assistance and on the job training.
To regularly monitor the health facilities and health posts and provide feedback to the staff of HFs and project management team.
To conduct Nutrition /IMNCI trainings.
To collect and reports Nutrition /IMNCI in nutrition database.
To insure implementation of Community based nutrition package in the field.
To have input in the Nutrition /IMNCI related books and materials if needed.
To coordinate the Nutrition /IMNCI tasks with other BPHS tasks with Technical supervisors.
To coordinate Nutrition /IMNCI with Provincial public nutrition officer of Provincial Public Health Directorate.
Other tasks assigned by the line manager.
To have coordination with HQ nutrition manager for the improvement of the tasks.
QUALIFICATION AND REQIREMENTS:
Medical Doctor is compulsory, MPH is preferred.
Fluent in English and local languages.
Good communication and presentation skill.
Having proper leadership skills
Familiarity with Logar Province.
Travel to the different districts of Logar Province
At least 3 years’ experience to the relevant position.
Excellent knowledge of English language (verbal and written)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proactive approach to solving issues.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to create a supportive working relationship with all project teams
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work on Microsoft Office, Excel, World
